Union tells French port workers to strike weekly

France's leading port workers’ union has called on its members to stage weekly 24-hour strikes in French ports to protest over reform plans announced by the government earlier this week, writes Andrew Spurrier in Paris.

The ports and docks federation ofthe CGT union confederation said thatit is “going into resistance” against the reform, which it claims was a threat to thousands of French port workers and their families.
