UK backs new Marine Bill

A proposed new UK Marine Bill has received strong support following a public consultation exercise over the past month. Of the 8,519 responses received for the Marine Bill White Paper, A Sea Change, 82% were in favour. The new bill, which has mainstream support from the UK port and shipping industries, will introduce new laws to improve the conservation and management of the UK’s marine environment.
