Scottish transport minister Tavish Scott has blasted the European Commission transport policy, calling the rules relating to competitive ferry service tendering a "basket case” in an interview with Holyrood magazine. His criticism of the rules follows four different ferry tenders which, for various reasons, have seen just one or no bidder participating in three incidents, due to shortlisted bidders withdrawing.
