Ferry travel to boom as ‘airport misery’ increases

Ferries are in for a revival as passengers turn away from the 'airport misery' associated with low-cost air travel, Bill Gibbons, director of the Passenger Shipping Association, told guests at a celebration evening at Harwich International Port.

'Coming through clearly is that the luggage restrictions and extra charges are beginning to have an effect on customers flying short-haul,' he said.
