Euro states face pollution penalty

The European Commission decided today to send reasoned opinions to eight member states for failure to adopt national legislation on pollution. The Commission will act against Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal and the UK for not adopting the 2005 Ship-Source Pollution Directive into national law.
