Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group is set to embark on $1.2bn investment in a RoPaxferry venture connecting the north and south of the country, writes Marcus Hand in Singapore.
According to local press reports, Vinashin plans to operate six passenger and cargo vessels along the country’s coastline of over 3,000 km.
In the initial phase of the project, the state shipbuilder plans to buy secondhand vessels from Italy.
