Secret Syrian-Cypriot ferry deal alleged

The illegal ferry line operating between Famagusta and Latakia, Syria, was allegedly set up by a secret agreement between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Syrian Arab Republic.

Gorgun Hamit, general manager of ferry line operator Akgunler Shipping, told Sea Sentinel today: "We were asked to set up the line by our government foreign ministry. They have an agreement with Syria.
