Hong Kong ferry route re-jig provokes anger from residents

Four ferry services between Hong Kong Island and several of the territory’s out-lying islands are being revamped after government officials put forward plans to cut and merge services rather than allow ferry operators to increase fares by up to 50%, writes Keith Wallis.

Under the plan the Transport Department has re-invited bids for serviceslinking the central business district with villages on Lantau and Lamma islands and Peng Chau.
