The DFDS ferry service linking Newcastle and Amsterdam has been suspended for the rest of the week due to an accident, writes Nigel Green.

DFDS King of ScandinaviaThe King of Scandinavia was damaged after high winds caused it to slip its moorings at North Shields and drift across the River Tyne, crashing into an oil platform.
