Top P&I job goes to maritime lawyer

A leading maritime lawyer has landed a top job in the shipownersÂ' protection and indemnity field, writes James Brewer.

Andrew Bardot has been appointed to the secretariat of the International Group of P&I Clubs, with a view to succeeding veteran Lloyd Watkins when he retires as the groupÂ's secretary and executive officer.

Mr Bardot will leave his current position as senior partner at maritime solicitors Bentley, Stokes & Lowless in September 2005.
