Superferry bomb plotter killed

The extremist who plotted several high-profile terror attacks in the Philippines, including the Superferry 14 blast and fire in February 2004, has been killed. Since the Superferry 14 incident, in which 100 passengers died, maritime authorities have tightened domestic shipping security, leading to the launching of the present system of sea marshals on board ships and at ports.
