Sir John seeks new blood to beef up board at P&O

Sir John Parker, the new chairman of P&O, is planning to strengthen the board of the ports-to-ferries operator by hiring as many as three new non-executive directors.

The move is his first attempt to stamp his authority on the company after his predecessor Lord Sterling, who served on the board for 25 years, stepped down in May.

City sources confirmed that Sir John, 62, was looking to hire two to three more non-executives....
