Cowes based yachtswoman Dame Ellen MacArthur has set a new record for sailing the English Channel in BandQ, the trimaran she used to set a new time for sailing solo around the world early in February.
On Friday she covered the 100 miles from Plymouth to Roscoff in 6 hours 20 minutes 33 seconds, taking the inaugural Brittany Ferries 100 Mile Trophy.
