Torstein Dale Sjøtveit has been appointed president and CEO of Aker Yards, the Oslo-based listed shipbuilder.
He comes from industrial company Norsk Hydro and will take up the post on 1 September, 2008 at the latest, Aker Yards said in a statement. The appointment ends a three-month interim period when the company's chairman Svein Sivertsen acted as CEO after the departure of Yrjo Julin on 3 March.
