Wightlink to spend £57m on upgrade

The Isle of Wight ferry operator, Wightlink is investing £57m ($113m) across all areas of its business. The company, which was bought by the Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund in 2005, is buying new ships and improving terminal facilities. The investment programme will take four years to implement and includes three ships already ordered in Croatia at a cost of £26m ($51.5m) for the Yarmouth-Lymington route.
