More passengers and cargo combined with higher passenger fares helped Viking Line, the Finnish cruise ferry operator, to increase net profit to €24.8M ($33M) in the financial year to October from €10.5M in the previous 12-months. The number of passengers carried increased by 3.9% to 5.7M and that of freight units by 3.2% to about 91,300. Passengers paid on average 7.2% more for their tickets than a year earlier.
