Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) chiefs have pledged a defiant response to today’s second 24-hour stoppage by the Public and Commercial Services union, although it accepts that some services may be limited as a result of industrial action.
Meanwhile, PCS leader Mark Serwotka has reiterated his strong backing for the strikers, arguing that MCA management has “refused to talk seriously” about the coastguard pay claim.
