Babcock & Brown, the investment bank, has acquired a 20.4% stake in the UK’s one remaining quoted ports group; Forth Ports. Forth, which owns Tilbury on the Thames and six Scottish ports including Grangemouth, Dundee and part of Rosyth, has been a takeover target for over three years with a previous takeover attempt by a private equity house not succeeding.
