EU could cause CalMac calamity

Calmac imageThe Sunday Herald reports that Scottish state-owned ferry operator CalMac could be made bankrupt as a result of European Commission action. There are mixed views on whether the Scottish Executive has met or fallen foul of EU competition legislation with recent ferry tenders, but rumours suggest that the Commission could take CalMac to court.
