Schoolgirls hurt in Brisbane ferry mishap

Two schoolgirls have been taken to hospital after a ferry collided with their rowing scull on the Brisbane River.

Nine girls were aboard the boat when it was hit by the high-speed City Cat ferry about 6.05am (AEST) today near Newstead Park, in Brisbane's north, police said.

Two girls, aged about 16, were taken to Royal Brisbane Hospital.
