The City of Rochester in New York state has announced the sale of its troubled fast ferry Spirit of Ontario to Germany’s Forde Reederei Seetouristik (FRS) for $30M in cash. According to an official statement, a $3M deposit has been received, with the deal to be finalised by the end of April and FRS to deploy the Austal-built, 775-passenger, 238-car vessel on a Spain-to-Morocco route.
