A high-speed ferry with icebreaking capabilities being designed to operate in Alaska is drawing criticism in Washington, DC. The experimental craft, being called 'the ferry to nowhere', will be the first icebreaking catamaran ferry in the world, but the $20m cost earmarked in the US Defense Department's spending bill approved late last year is being called wasteful.
