NEL claims over problem-hit fast ferry engines

Listed Greek ferry operator NEL Lines has told investors it has launched a claim for about €89m ($107m) in the French courts against SEMT Pielstick, supplier of the engines for the companyÂ's three flagship fast ferries.

The three Corsaire-type fast monohull ferries were built for NEL at Alstom subsidiary Alstom Leroux Naval in western France in 2000 and 2001, but have reportedly been plagued with problems ever since.
