To try and overcome the shortage of skilled workers available to Australian shipyards, the chairman of Incat, Robert Clifford, has suggested that an increase in immigration might provide a solution according to a Tasmania Mercury report. Incat has stated that the shortage has slowed the production of the fast ferries its builds.
