Hawaii Superferry begins layoffs

 Hawaii Superferry is laying off 80% of its employees in the wake of Tuesday’s court decision preventing service resumption. Hawaii Superferry president John Garibaldi confirmed in a statement that 249 staff members would be laid off: 178 in Oahu, 36 in Maui and 35 in Kauai.
