The future of Poland’s Gdansk shipyard is under threat after a clash between the Polish government and the European Competition Commission over EU cash demands that could close the iconic site. The row started when the EU told Poland to close two of the shipyard’s three slipways or pay back state aid that had been used to prevent it going under.
