The operator of a proposed hovercraft commuter service in Scotland is keen to move ahead, after a successful trial earlier this year. The test of the service across the Firth of Forth attracted 32,000 people. According to a report in The Herald, Brian Souter, chief executive of Stagecoach, the project’s promoter, has indicated that a regular run between Kirkcaldy and Leith could attract up to 870,000 passengers a year.
