Court halts Hawaii Superferry

A Maui judge ruled against Hawaii Superferry yesterday, calling into serious question whether the fledgling operation can survive in that state’s waters. For the past month, the Maui Circuit Court has been deliberating on whether the company can continue to operate during the eight months or more it will take for a newly mandated environmental assessment of ferry-related infrastructure upgrades.
