Another setback for Hawaii ferryHawaii Superferry’s Alakai will be out of service longer than expected due to repair complications, while environmentalists have resumed their legal battle. Last month, management decided to drydock the Austal-built fast ferry from 13 February-3 March to repair cracks in the auxiliary rudders. By moving up the annual maintenance period, management also sought to counter very weak seasonal demand due to rough seas.
