Grandi Navi Veloci, struggling for traction in a highly competitive Mediterranean ferry market, may have lost at least one chance to ease the pressure, with financial sources suggesting a contract to sell two of its fast cruise ferries to Vietnam is now in doubt, writes John McLaughlin.

GNV sold La Suprema and La Superba to the Vietnamese government earlier this year for €135m ($210m) each.
