The CoastGuard has put in place booms around the capsized ferry Princess of the Stars in the Philippines to prevent the spread of leaked fuel if its bunkers flow from the wreck.
The move was also in preparation for the planned salvage of the 23,824gt RoPax, which contained 270,000 litres of fuel oil when it sank last month off Sibuyan Island, Romblon.
