Philippine ferry sinks while under repair

A ferry that was about to be repaired sank last night while at dock in a port in Cavite City, Philippines. A report from the Philippine Coast Guard said the Avelina, which plies the Manila-Cavite route, sank when seawater entered the engine area. The vessel, owned by Metro Star Ferry, was berthed as its engine generator had been removed for repair.
