Olympics needs seamless security With at least 19 UK government departments having a stake in maritime security and five different police forces having a stake in the Thames and London approaches, a joined-up maritime security capability is needed, says a former navy defence expert. Commander Mike Mason, now a marine consultant, was speaking on Wednesday at the ShipShape/GMI conference on ports and ferries held in Greenwich.
