The Spanish government's Council of Ministers has approved the creation of a bi-lateral commission with Italy to establish 'sea motorways' between the two countries. The new sea motorway commission will be comprised of 12 government members, including port managers, merchant marine administrators and representatives from government ministries who will assess bids from the private sector to operate new sea motorways.
