High winds hit ferry services and ports

The combination of high winds, heavy rain and high tides and resulted in widespread disruption to ferry sailings around the UK. In the English Channel Dover suspended ferry sailings this morning to all destinations because of the weather and Brittany Ferries has cancelled a freight sailing from Portsmouth to Cherbourg and a roundtrip sailing from Plymouth to Roscoff. Condor’s fast ferry link from Weymouth is also not operating.
