Gozo Channel Co has announced a record 182% rise in profits, despite carrying only seven per cent more passengers and eight per cent more vehicles in 2006-07 over the previous financial year. That made it the best ever year of operations with net profits reaching €1.85M. Passengers crossing on the company’s ferries increased to 3.8M from 3.6M, and 1,013,180 vehicles were carried. Gozo Channel Co was formed in 1979.
