France's principal port workers’ union has suspended the 48-hour national strike it called for tomorrow and Wednesday after a swift response from the government to its claim that port employers’ bodies were refusing to negotiate seriously on port reform.
But it warned that it would reinstate the strike rapidly if a meeting with employers’ bodies organised by the government yesterday afternoon proved to be “unfruitful or ambiguous”.
