The Singapore authorities have launched a crackdown on shipyard safety after two confined space accidents this month left three dead and 19 injured.

The Ministry of Manpower will be conducting checks at all 89 shipyards in Singapore focusing on safety and health management systems as concern grows that booming orderbooks are resulting in lower safety standards.
