Shiro Iijima, the manager of the shipbuilding division of Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, has said that whatever steel mills throw at them in terms of increases during the latest negotiations, the shipyard is looking to make ¥10bn ($97.7m) in operating profit during the 2008 financial year.
The nation’s third largest shipyard is expecting to make an operating profit of ¥4bn in 2007.
