One of the most complicated but rewarding aspects of the Atlantico Sul project has been the creation of a new generation of shipbuilders.
Traditionalists raised eyebrows about the decision to establish the yard outside Rio de Janeiro, the traditional heartland of Brazilian shipbuilding.
While building a shipyard at the same time as embarking on the construction of the first three suezmaxes was considered unorthodox, to do so while training an entire workforce appeared nothing short of reckless.
