Twenty-five present and former workers at Austal’s shipbuilding yard in Mobile have filed a lawsuit in US federal court, alleging widespread racial discrimination at the facility. According to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, the black men and women say they were paid less than white counterparts, denied opportunities for advancement and routinely subjected to racial slurs and epithets.
